Donations will allow St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County, (SVdP), to brighten the holidays for low-income residents of East County. Their food-gift card distribution program at Thanksgiving and Christmas would serve 300 families-over or 1,200 individuals.
Donations will allow Contra Costa Crisis Center to staff their Grief Counseling Services Coordination. The Crisis Center has been facilitating such conversations since 1963. The nonprofit is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology, and it provides 24/7 support and counseling for those in crisis, in distress, or feeling suicidal, 365 days a year. Its mission is to keep those in crisis alive until the storm passes.
Berkeley Food & Housing Project’s Community Meal provides over 5,000 meals per month to people experiencing food insecurity. Donations would cover the cost of the holiday meals program. This would include the preparation of special holiday meals during November and December as well as gift bags with helpful personal items and treats.
Winter Nights Family Shelter supports families by helping them remain employed and get or retain housing. Donations will help support their housing assistance efforts.
