Antioch’s Salvation Army has helped 100,000+ folks in need since 2005

If being a working mother with six children weren’t hard enough, the Antioch resident and Tri-Delta Transit bus driver has battled congestive heart failure over the years while trying to provide a better life for her family. While life has thrown her some curve balls, she said the Salvation Army has provided her family with food, helped access medical care and provided gifts during the holiday seasons.

“Everyone was really nice from the time I first walked in,” Bassard said. “Those were really blessings to get.”

Bassard is one of the thousands who has sought help from Antioch’s Salvation Army chapter since it opened its doors here in 1994. It provides food, Christmas toys, day care, a Wednesday youth program and various other forms of assistance.
